Playa de los Muertos
For many, the most beautiful beach in Cabo de Gata, and it’s just round the corner from Carboneras harbour. Turquoise water, pale pebbles and volcanic cliffs. From the sea you see it like from nowhere else.
Playa de los Muertos: what you need to know

The most famous beach in Carboneras
A long beach of pale pebbles and sand with incredibly blue water, framed by cliffs on both sides. To the south, volcanic rocks create a spectacular snorkelling landscape.
In summer the car park fills up very early and the walk in full sun is hard work: that’s why many people prefer to see it from the boat.

Mesa Roldán, right above
Above the beach rises Mesa Roldán, the highest cliff in Almería, with its lighthouse and watchtower. From the sea, the cliff face and the coves at its foot are among the most impressive sights of the trip.
