Cala del Plomo
A wide, wild cove between Agua Amarga and Las Negras, with blue-green water, a gentle entry into the sea and an almost lunar landscape around it. One of Cabo de Gata’s best-kept secrets.
Cala del Plomo: what you need to know

What Cala del Plomo is like
It’s an open cove about 200 metres long, with sand and small pebbles, surrounded by scrubby hills and rock formations. The water is usually calm and very clear, which makes it a great spot for snorkelling, diving or kayaking.
Next to the cove are a few traditional farmhouses, and this is where the trail to Cala de Enmedio and Agua Amarga begins.

Rocks, seabed and peace and quiet
The rocks at each end of the cove are where marine life gathers. Outside July and August it’s easy to find it almost empty.
In high summer, if you go by road, get there early: the car park is small. By sea you don’t have that problem.
